Ryane Clowe (concussion) will be unable to play hockey now or in the future.
Clowe has suffered four concussions in the last two seasons and doctors have recommended that he does not play again. The last time Clowe has played was November 6th, 2014 and has likely been forced into retirement. He is expected to sit on longterm injured reserve throughout the remainder of his three-year, $14.55 million contract.
Clowe (concussion) will not play again this season.
When Devils GM Lou Lamoriello was asked about Clowe’s status, he said there is “not a chance” that Clowe plays again this season. He was also unsure whether Clowe would be back next year. Clowe carries a $4.85M cap-hit and is signed through the 2018-19 season.
Clowe (concussion) is on the Devils road-trip.
Clowe has been out with a concussion since November 6th. At this point there is still no word whether he will return this season or not, but at least he is able to travel with the team.

Clowe left Thursday’s game with an undisclosed injury and did not return to the game.
The Devils did not have an update on Clowe after last night’s loss, but he is questionable for tonight’s game in Detroit. The Devils likely won’t have a morning skate because of the back-to-back, but head coach Pete DeBoer should have an update on Clowe this afternoon.

Clowe (concussion) will return to the Devils lineup tonight.
After signing a five-year, $24.25 millions US contract in the offseason, Clowe has only appeared in six of a possible 38 games for the Devils this season. Clowe was concussed on October 13 against the Jets, so he has missed two and a half months. In his first six games with New Jersey he has one assist and a minus-5 rating. Clowe will skate on the fourth line with Andrei Loktionov and Stephen Gionta.
Ryane Clowe said it's a possibility he'll play Friday
Clowe has only suited up for 6 games for the Devils so far this season and should not be a target for your fantasy team.
Clowe (concussion) said he's been cleared for full practice and contact. He is not going to Columbus, but will skate in New Jersey on Tuesday.
Clowe said no timetable for when he'll play has been discussed, but that would be next step after a full practice. Clowe has not played in almost two months after being concussed on October 13.
Clowe (concussion) resumed skating this week.
Clowe suffered the concussion in mid-October and has only appeared in six games with the Devils. He had been off of the ice for over a month recovering from the head injury. There is no official timetable, but he is still probably a few weeks away from returning to the lineup.
Clowe (concussion) resumed skating this morning.
It was the first time Clowe has skated since suffering a concussion on October 12. There is still no timetable for his return, but returning to the ice is a big step in what has been slow progress so far. The Devils could use Clowe in the lineup after scoring just 38 goals in the first 19 games.
The Devils placed left wing Ryane Clowe on injured reserve today after he took an elbow to the head from Winnipeg’s Jacob Trouba Sunday and was bothered by a headache afterward.
Clowe was placed on IR retroactive to Sunday’s game, so he will be eligible to be activated in time for next Tuesday’s game in Columbus. He will miss the next two games—Thursday in Ottawa and Saturday against the Rangers. “He got hit with a pretty good elbow in the third period and continued to play,” Lou Lamoriello said. “Because of his past history, we felt for safety precaution that with the IR retroactive it would just be two games, hopefully. Certainly we had him see a physician, but it was just a precaution.”
Devils say Ryan Clowe has a lower-body injury and won't return.
Clowe deal in New Jersey: 5 years, $4.85 M per year
With the Devils losing David Clarkson they bring in Clowe who plays a similar style game to that of Clarkson. The 30-year-old forward struggled early last season scoring no goals in 28 games with the Sharks before being traded to the Rangers. After being dealt he had eight points in 12 games.
Clowe said there is a good chance he can play tonight.
Clowe missed the last game of the regular season and the first three games of this series with an undisclosed injury. He has been a good playoff performer in the past, posting 45 points in 68 career playoff games.

Clowe calls himself 'game-time decision' for Game 3
Clowe, who missed the first two games of the series against the Washington Capitals with an undisclosed injury, called himself a "game-time decision." Rangers coach John Tortorella does not provide lineup or injury updates during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was, however, a small sign that Clowe could be in for Game 3. He came off the ice with the rest of the regulars who participated in the optional morning skate while Arron Asham stayed on for an extra few minutes of work. Usually anybody who stays on for extra time after a morning skate is going to be scratched for the game that night, but since it was an optional skate it's not as clear.

Nothing new to report today on Ryane Clowe (concussion?)
Clowe will travel to Washington with the team, but likely won't play in Game 1.
Ryane Clowe (undisclosed) did not practice, and his return is unknown. It’s possible Clowe, who initially appeared to hurt his right leg in Carolina on Thursday, could have concussion issues after taking an inadvertent elbow to the face from Hurricanes defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti.
Still, John Tortorella has hinted he expects Clowe back for the playoffs, which along with Dorsett and a possible Staal return could strengthen a lineup that gave the coach concern after Saturday’s 4-0 win over Jersey in the regular-season finale.
Clowe will not play tonight.
Clowe appeared to injure his leg in Thursday's game with the Hurricanes. He will miss the season finale tonight and his status for the playoffs is uncertain.
Ryane Clowe was injured during Thursday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes and did not return.
It’s unclear whether the issue is even an upper-body or lower-body injury, although it looked like the big forward’s leg was bothering him. In the meantime, it looks like Chris Kreider will get a chance to prove that he deserves more reps.
