Vatanen (upper-body) will not play on Friday.

Vatanen will miss Friday’s game with an upper-body injury that he suffered in Wednesday’s loss in Colorado. With Vatanen out, Korbinian Holzer will return to the Ducks lineup and Hampus Lindholm is expected to take on a larger role on the Ducks’ power-play, like he did after Vatanen left Wednesday’s game.

Sami Vatanen
Vatanen (upper-body) is "questionable at best" for Friday's game.

Vatanen left Wednesday’s game with an upper-body injury and is listed as questionable for tonight’s contest in St. Louis. Monitor his status during the Ducks’ morning skate and if Vatanen can’t play, look for Korbinan Holzer to re-enter the lineup.

Vatanen (illness) will be in the lineup on Wednesday.

Vatanen missed Tuesday’s practice with an illness, but he will be in the lineup on Wednesday. Vatanen has not had as big of an offensive season as his owners would have liked—he comes in with 22 points (6G / 16A) in 45 games.

Vatanen (leg) will be back in the Ducks lineup on Friday.

Vatanen has been out since February 15th but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Avalanche. Vatanen has had an excellent year, posting 34 points (12G / 22A) in 57 games this season so get him active in all formats.

Vatanen (leg) will travel on the Ducks upcoming three-game road trip.

Vatanen returned to the ice yesterday and he appears to still be on track for a return in late March. He will travel, but is not expected to play on the trip. He will likely practice with the team for the duration of the trip, before returning later in the month.

Sami Vatanen
Vatanen (lower-body) will miss 4-6 weeks.

Vatanen was having an incredible season, recording 34 points (12G / 22A) in 57 games, but he will now be out until at least the middle of March. This is a tough break for the Ducks, but it will give Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm and Francois Beauchemin more of the offensive burden.

Vatanen left Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Vatanen logged just 5:22 of ice time before being forced to retire to the dressing room with a lower-body injury on Sunday. Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau did not have an update on Vatanen after Sunday’s game, so expect more information on Monday.

The Ducks have sent Sami Vatanen to Norfolk (AHL).

Vatanen, who played very well for Finland in Sochi, has been returned to the AHL suggesting that Mark Fistric will be good to go on Friday vs. St. Louis. His return to the AHL is not a knock on his skill level, but he is a victim of a numbers game. If the Ducks are dealt another injury on the blueline, expect Vatanen to be the first one recalled.
