Hemsky will miss 5-6 months after undergoing surgery to repair a labral tear in his hip.

Hemsky suffered the injury at the Word Cup of Hockey and only appeared in one game with the Stars before undergoing surgery. If Hemsky misses five months, he will be out until early April, so it’s very likely that his 2016-17 regular season is over before it really got started.
