Hemsky will miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury that he suffered last Friday. With Hemsky out, Brendan Ranford will make his NHL debut.

Hemsky has missed the last two games, but he said earlier in the week that he was hopeful that he would be able to play on Thursday. Taking part in practice on Wednesday is a good sign that Hemsky will be available on Thursday vs. the Sharks.
