Shea Weber News

Weber (lower-body) did not skate this morning; doubtful for Game 5.

Weber did not take part in the morning skate, so he is unlikely to play in a pivotal game 5 for the Predators. Head coach Peter Laviolette had “nothing to report” on any of his injured players, so Weber’s status remains up in the air.

Weber (lower-body) will not play on Saturday.

Weber is reportedly day-to-day with a lower-body injury, but this smells like rest for Weber, who missed three games late in March with a lower-body injury. Weber had no points but 15 shots on goal in three games since returning from that injury.

Weber is day to day with an upper-body injury and did not skate Thursday in Nashville's first practice since the defenseman was hurt.

Weber left Tuesday night's 4-3 win at Winnipeg 3:28 into the third period and did not return. The Predators took Wednesday off, and Weber was not seen in the locker room after practice Thursday. The Predators will leave his status as day-to-day an reevaluate him on Friday.

Weber left Tuesday's game early in the third period and did not return.

Weber had recorded his 23rd assist earlier in the contest, but retired to the dressing room after playing just 17:45 (averages 26:43). There is no word on the nature or severity of Weber's injury, but we should get an update today. Weber is currently tied for NHL lead in goals for defensemen with 13 and his 36 points is good for fifth.

Weber (face) will return to the Predators blueline tonight.

Weber missed the last three games after taking a puck to the face near his eye on November 28. Weber will sport a visor in tonight's contest following the scary incident. Weber has seven goals and five assists while averaging 26:09 TOI in 26 games. He is expected to return to the top-pair with Roman Josi.

Weber made the trip to Washington with teammates on Friday afternoon and could return to action against the Capitals Saturday after a three-game absence.

“Today was a good day,” said Weber, who suffered the injury in a 3-0 loss to Edmonton on Thanksgiving night. “It was good to be back out there with the guys and skate with them and hopefully move forward going ahead this week.” Weber’s playing status will be determined this morning, coach Barry Trotz said. “When he gets up in the morning and we can do our meetings and all, I’m sure I’ll know at that point,” he said.

Weber (eye) will skate tomorrow with the team and will travel to Washington and New York.

Weber will wear a visor when he returns to action, whether or not that is Saturday in Washington remains to be seen. He will miss his third consecutive game tonight and should be considered questionable for the weekend, but monitor his status closely because if he plays he should be activated in all formats. Weber is tied for the NHL lead in goals by defesemen with seven.

Shea Weber
No sign of Shea Weber (face) at the Predators morning skate, which means no Weber vs. the Flyers.

Weber took a puck in the face on Thursday and did not return to the game. The injury was near his eye which is always a scary scene, especially when it is your team's best player. He has been listed as day-to-day by the Predators so he is not expected to be out long-term at this point. Seth Jones will likely slide onto the top-pair with Roman Josi while Weber is sidelined.
