The Coyotes signed Steven Kampfer to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

Kampfer started the 2023 season in the Detroit organization, picking up 22 points (4G / 18A) in 44 games with Grand Rapids (AHL). He was traded to Arizona for future considerations on March 9th and added seven points (2G / 5A) in 15 games with Tucson (AHL). Kampfer has not played in the NHL since 2021, when he tallied five points (2G / 3A) in 20 games with the Bruins.

The Coyotes have acquired Steve Kampfer from the Red Wings for future considerations.

Kampfer had four goals, 22 points, 26 PIMs and a -16 plus/minus through 44 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) and has been traded to the Arizona Coyotes for future considerations. The 34-year-old veteran defenseman has played in 231 career NHL games, picking up 15 goals and 39 points.

Steven Kampfer has been recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL).

Kampfer had three goals, seven assists and 12 PIMs in 19 games with Grand Rapids (AHL) prior to his promotion to the Red Wings Tuesday. Kampfer will have a chance to immediately enter the lineup as he was called up to replace Robert Hagg who was placed on the injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 8th.

The Bruins have recalled Steven Kampfer Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Kampfer hasn't played a lot of hockey this season, appearing in just four games with Boston (0 points) and six with Providence (4 assists). He could draw into the lineup on Friday with Torey Krug landing on IR with an upper-body injury that he suffered just before the break.

Kampfer was a healthy scratch for the last two games but will dress as a seventh defenseman on Friday night. Kampfer is an Ann Arbor, Michigan native, so the Bruins obviously wanted to get him into the lineup near his hometown. Brett Ritchie will come out of the lineup.

Kampfer will draw back into the Bruins lineup on Saturday.

Kampfer has been a healthy scratch for the last six games but will play in his second game of the season on Saturday. A matchup vs. a weak Senators team is a good opportunity to get Kampfer in the lineup and give Connor Clifton the night off.

Kampfer has been a healthy scratch for the first five games of the season but will replace Connor Clifton on the blueline for Monday afternoon’s tilt vs. the Ducks. Kampfer had three goals and three assists in 35 NHL games last year.
