Jurco (undisclosed) will not play on Saturday.

Jurco left Friday’s practice early and will not be available on Saturday. There is no word on the nature or severity of the injury. Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock did not say whether Dan Cleary or Stephen Weiss will replace Jurco.

Jurco has missed the last eight games with a back injury, but he will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Lightning. He will skate with Joakim Andersson and Drew Miller on the Wings’ fourth line as well as on the second power-play unit. Jurco has two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 37 games.

Jurco will miss his eighth straight game with a back injury that he suffered on January 6th in Edmonton. Daniel Cleary will play tonight with Jurco still out, but he is hopeful he will be back in the lineup on Thursday vs. the Lightning.

Jurco, who left Tuesday’s game early, said that his lower-back pain has been lingering for a few days. He thinks it will just be a day-to-day ailment. Joakim Andersson will replace Jurco tonight vs. the Flames.

Jurco suffered a back injury in the Red Wings win over the Oilers last night. After the game head coach Mike Babcock said that Jurco will not play on Wednesday in Calgary, so expect either Dan Cleary or Joakim Andersson to reenter the lineup in Jurco’s place.

Jurco has missed seven games with broken ribs that he suffered on March 11th. His return forced the Red Wings to send Mitch Callahan back to Grand Rapids. Jurco has registered 10 points (5G / 5A) in 26 games this season.

Jurco left Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jackets with a rib injury. The injury will keep him out of the lineup on Friday, so the Red Wings have recalled Teemu Pulkkinen, who will take Jurco's spot and make his NHL debut vs. the Oilers. The injuries just continue to mount in Detroit and it is starting to look more and more like they will miss the playoffs for the first time since 1990.

Jurco suited up four all four of Slovakia's games in Sochi. He has seven points (3G / 4A) in 19 games with the Red Wings this season. The Red Wings will continue to lean on their young players with veterans battling injury.

With Tomas Tatar in Slovakia because of his father's funeral, Jurco has been recalled and will play on Thursday. The 21-year-old recorded two goals and one assist in seven games with the Red Wings in late December. Jurco, the 35th pick overall in 2011, showed he has some promise and has played very well at the AHL level as well. He leads Grand Rapids with 32 points (13G / 19A) in 32 games.
