Trocheck was forced to leave Friday's game vs. the Predators with an upper-body injury and did not return. He was not on the ice for Saturday's practice and the Hurricanes were unsure of his status for Sunday's game. Since its' an afternoon start, consider him a game-time decision.

Bertuzzi missed the last five games while in COVID-19 protocol but was back on the ice for Monday's practice and will play Tuesday against the Islanders. Bertuzzi says he will remain unvaccinated. He has had a really strong year thus far, scoring nine goals with nine assists (18 points) in 20 games.

Because he has not been vaccinated for COVID-19, Bertuzzi is not eligible to travel to Canada for Saturday's game in Toronto or Tuesday's game in Montreal. Joe Veleno has been recalled from the AHL and could replace Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi will be in the lineup Thursday vs. the Flames, will miss Saturday's game in Montreal but will be back in the lineup for Sunday's game in Chicago. Bertuzzi is ineligible to play in Canada this season due to his COVID-19 vaccination status.

Bertuzzi will be in training camp and will be forced to follow more strict guidelines but will be eligible to play in all games in the United States. The Red Wings play nine games in Canada this season, so Bertuzzi will be suspended without pay for those games under the agreement between the NHL and the NHLPA.

Bertuzzi missed almost all of 2021 with a back injury and the decision was made for him to get back surgery in late April. Luckily for the Red Wings, Bertuzzi is expected to be available for the start of next season.

Bertuzzi has not played since January 30th, so this isn't overly surprising with Detroit all but eliminated from the playoffs. Bertuzzi finishes the season with just seven points (5G / 2A) in nine games.

Trocheck has missed the last eight games with an upper-body injury but could return to the lineup on Tuesday. Trocheck has skated between Andrei Svechnikov and Jesper Fast for the last two days, so all signs are pointing towards him playing in Chicago.

Trocheck will miss at least two more games with an upper-body injury that popped up on Thursday. With Trocheck out, Morgan Geekie will remain in the Hurricanes' bottom-6 and PP2.
