The Maple Leafs have announced that Tyler Bozak is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Prior to today all we knew about Bozak's injury was that it was lower-body. Hamstring injuries can be very touchy so the Maple Leafs will take their time with Boazk. He is not eligible to return until November 19.

Bozak will miss his fourth straight game tonight and will not be able to return to action until November 19th vs the Islanders at the earliest. This move allows Nikolai Kulemin to be activated from IR without having to make another roster move.

Bozak re-signs with the Toronto Maple Leafs for 5-years, $21-million.

Bozak will stay in Toronto with his friend Phil Kessel. He is not the number 1 center that they need, but he is still a solid number 2. He set a career high with 47 in 2011-12 and had 28 points in 46 games last season.

Bozak will be out until January 5th. Bozak had been enjoying a bounce back season between Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. The Regina, Saskatchewan native has seven goals and 25 points through 35 games. Candidates to center the top line are Nazem Kadri or Tim Connolly.

Tyler Bozak declared himself fit after practice Wednesday. Bozak took a shot off the foot in the Bruins game and has missed the last two games. He was moved down to the third line with Matt Frattin and Matthew Lombardi.

Over his first six games, Bozak produced four assists. His point totals likely fall off the map with his demotion to the third line.
