Motte will miss 4-to-6 weeks with a shoulder injury.

Motte will miss two weeks with an upper-body injury.

Motte was set to skate on the Canucks fourth line in the season opener but will be replaced by Loui Eriksson. Motte will likely miss the first five or six games of the regular season but should travel on the Canucks east coast road-trip, which starts on October 17th.

The Canucks have acquired Tyler Motte and Jussi Jokinen from the Blue Jackets for Thomas Vanek.

Motte was a part of the Artemi Panarin trade this summer, but only had five points (3G / 2A) in 31 games with the Blue Jackets this year. He has struggled at the AHL level as well, picking up just 19 goals and eight assists (27 points) in his last 60 AHL games. So this return doesn’t make a lot of sense for the Canucks.

The Blue Jackets have recalled Tyler Motte from Cleveland (AHL).

Motte has scored three goals and one assist in 29 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has picked up eight points (6G / 2A) in nine games with Cleveland and will likely play on Thursday after it was announced Sonny Milano will miss 4-6 weeks.
