Barrie is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and questionable to play Wednesday.

Barrie left Monday's game in Calgary and did not return. He tested it prior to the third period but didn't feel right and went back to the dressing room. Barrie also missed Tuesday's practice, making him questionable to play in Wednesday's rematch. Ethan Bear will move up and play with Darnell Nurse if Barrie can't play.

The Oilers have signed Tyson Barrie to a one-year deal worth $3.75M.

Barrie's time in Toronto didn't go quite as planned. He finished 2020 with just 39 points (5G / 34A) in 70 games. It's hard to forget that he was sixth among defensemen in points (116) with the Avalanche in the two previous years combined, so the Oilers get a talented offensive-defensemen. Barrie signs a one-year deal to be the quarterback of the NHL's top power-play in an attempt to build his value back up before he hits the market again next year. This move also buys Oilers' prospect Evan Bouchard another year of development.

Barrie (undisclosed) will not play on Tuesday.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar announced that Barrie will not be available tonight but did not indicate what is ailing the offensive-defenseman. Consider Barrie as day-to-day until the Avalanche provides a more detailed update. Mark Barberio will replace him in the lineup.

Barrie (hand) will return to the Avalanche lineup on Tuesday.

Barrie was listed as questionable after participating in Monday’s practice but he will be back in the Avalanche lineup tonight in Vancouver. Barrie has had a really nice season, collecting 27 points (4G / 23A) in 34 games, but might not re-claim his spot on the top PP right away. Barrie does however return with the Avs playing their best hockey of the season and should help to keep them rolling.

Barrie (hand) is a possibility to play as soon as Tuesday.

Barrie has missed the last 13 games with a broken hand but was on the ice for Monday’s practice and is nearing a return. Barrie’s status for Tuesday’s game is uncertain but he has not officially been ruled out. Monitor his status during Tuesday’s morning skate.

Barrie will undergo surgery on his broken hand and will miss 4-6 weeks.

Barrie broke his hand before the Christmas break and after being evaluated the Avalanche decided it’s best that he will undergo surgery. Barrie will be sidelined for at least one month, so don’t expect to see him until late-January/early-February.

Barrie is expected to be sidelined with a broken hand.

Barrie broke a bone in his hand early in Saturday’s game in Arizona and should miss a decent amount of time. The Avalanche have yet to provide a firm timetable on his return but should do so leading up to Wednesday’s game vs. the Coyotes.
