The Canadiens have assigned Victor Mete to Laval (AHL).
Mete has just four assists in 23 games this season and heads to Laval to clear a roster spot for Paul Byron to come off of IR. Mete will get an opportunity to play huge minutes in Laval but will likely return to Montreal in the near future.
Juulsen (upper-body) will be a game-time decision on Thursday.
Juulsen took part in the Canadiens’ morning skate but remains a game-time decision for Thursday’s game vs. the Capitals. If Juulsen plays, he is expected to replace Victor Mete.

Mete is expected to be back in the Canadiens lineup on Tuesday.
Mete was a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will replace Karl Alzner tonight vs. the Flames. Mete has no points while playing 17:19 TOI/GM in his first five games of the season.
Mete is expected to miss six weeks with a fractured finger.
Mete was hurt over the weekend and is rookie season is likely over as he is expected to miss six weeks with a fractured finger. Mete never scored a goal and picked up seven assists in 49 games.

Mete (hand) has returned to Montreal; will not play on Saturday.
Mete was hurt in the Canadiens’ win in Brooklyn last night. He played just 5:48 TOI before departing the contest and will be replaced by Jordie Benn, who served as a healthy scratch last night. Mete is being re-evaluated in Montreal, but consider him day-to-day for now.
