Viktor Fasth News

Fasth had to be helped off of the ice after being bowled over by teammate Anton Lander in Oilers' practice on Monday.

Fasth who was lit up for five goals on 16 shots in the first 32 minutes and 42 seconds on Saturday probably is not going to get a chance to redeem himself this week. He was reportedly collided with Lander and appeared to hit his head or neck on the net. He looked won as he was helped to the dressing room, so the immediate assumption is that he suffered a concussion. The Oilers finally have two stable goaltenders and there own players ruin that. #mess.

Fasth starts on Saturday vs. the Flames.

Fasth stopped 28 of 29 shots in a win over the Predators on Tuesday. Since coming to the Oilers, Fasth has gone 2-0-1 with a 1.58 GAA and .940 SV%. He appears set to have another strong outing this evening in Calgary. The Flames, much like the Oilers are playing better hockey, but they are coming off of a loss to the Preds last night.

Fasth will be in goal for the Oilers.

Fasth stopped 22 of 23 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Red Wings on Friday. He has turned aside 40 of the 44 shots (.926 SV%) he has faced in his first two starts with the Oiler. He and Ben Scrivens have solidified the Oilers crease lately, but hinder each other's fantasy value due to the platoon. Tonight, e should make for a strong spot start vs. the Predators.

Fasth makes his second start with Edmonton.

Fasth stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Wild in his Oilers debut on Tuesday. With Ben Scrivens facing 87 shots in his last two starts and allowing six goals last night, it will be Fasth tonight in Detroit. He faces a Red Wings team without a couple of top-6 forwards, but the infusion of young talent has kept them competitive.

Viktor Fasth
It is likely that Viktor Fasth gets the start in goal tonight given coach Eakins' general policy regarding playing the same goaltender on back-to-back nights.

Fasth stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Wild in his Oilers debut on Tuesday. With Ben Scrivens facing 87 shots in his last two starts and allowing six goals last night, it should be Fasth tonight in Detroit. The matchup is solid because of the injuries in Detroit, however they are a young lineup right now who can pose some problems for the Oilers.

Fasth will make his Oilers debut on Tuesday.

Fasth will make his Oilers debut and his first start since November 18. He went 2-2-1 with a 2.95 GAA and .885 SV% in five starts with the Ducks before getting hurt. He also went 3-2-0 with a 2.40 GAA and .922 SV% in five AHL conditioning starts, so he should be 100 per cent tonight in Minnesota. It will be tougher sledding behind the Oilers than the Ducks, but expect Fasth to give Ben Scrivens a good-run for the number-1 job.

The Ducks have traded Viktor Fasth to the Oilers for a 2014 fifth-round pick and a 2015 third-round pick.

The emergence of Frederik Andersen allowed the Ducks to send Fasth to the Oilers for future assets. Fasth has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.95 GAA and .885 SV% in an injury riddled season with the Ducks. After the Oilers started the season with Devan Dubnyk and Jason LaBarbera they now have Ben Scrivens and Fasth, which is a nice upgrade.

Fasth is with Norfolk (AHL) on a long-term conditioning assignment.

Fasth was injured in pre-game warmups on November 22nd and has not played since. Fasth started for Norfolk on the weekend, it was his first game action since November 18. With the emergence of Frederik Andersen in his absence, Fasth has become a potential trade target for teams who are in need of adding goaltending depth.

Viktor Fasth
Fasth (lower-body) did some one-on-one work with goalie coach Dwayne Roloson before Ducks' practice.

Fasth has not played since November 18 because of lower-body inflammation. He was only expected to miss 3-4 weeks, however he has been out more than two months. There is still no timetable for his return.

Viktor Fasth
The Ducks announced that Fasth did in fact suffer a lower-body injury in warmups, thus Jonas Hiller gets the start.

There is no word on who will start tomorrow against the Coyotes, but should Fasth miss an extended period time again, expect Frederik Andersen to be recalled from Norfolk. Expect an update on Saturday.

Viktor Fasth looks like your Ducks starter.

Fasth allowed two goals on 23 shots in a shootout loss to the Hurricanes on Friday. It was a solid return after missing a month with a lower-body injury. It appears he will go vs. a tough Penguins team tonight.

Fasth is 'likely' to get the start says head coach Bruce Boudreau.

Fasth has not started an NHL game since October 16th - he had 33 saves in a win over the Flames that evening. He is 2-1-0 with a 3.33 GAA and .877 SV% in three starts this season. Fasth has a solid matchup to make his return to the crease when the Ducks take on the Hurricanes.

Fasth (lower-body) has been activated off of IR and recalled from Norfolk (AHL) after a conditioning stint.

Fasth allowed three goals on 30 shots in 35 minutes of playing time in Norfolk's 3-1 loss to Manchester on Wednesday. Fasth has been on the shelf since October 17 but could get the start tomorrow vs. Carolina. With Fasth being recalled the Ducks have re-assigned Frederik Andersen to the AHL.

Fasth (lower-body) skated with the Ducks this morning but is not ready to be activated from IR.

Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau says he will be activated from IR when he is ready, but he is not quite there yet. The Ducks will continue to roll with Jonas Hiller and Frederik Andersen.

Viktor Fasth
Fasth (lower-body) has been assigned to Norfolk on a long-term injury conditioning loan.

Fasth has been out since October 18 and has seen his replacement Frederik Andersen go 6-0-0 with a 1.41 GAA and .952 SV%. It will be interesting to see how the Ducks handle this situation - Fasth was great in his rookie season and signed a two-year extension, but will the Ducks send a 6-0 Andersen down?

Viktor Fasth
As expected, Fasth (lower-body) was a full participant in Ducks practice today.

Fasth has been out since October 16 and there is no decision yet on whether he'll join Ducks on their upcoming road trip (Nov 12-18). With Frederik Andersen playing well they will not rush Fasth back. Monitor his status following Sunday's contest with the Canucks - they will travel to Florida on Monday.

Viktor Fasth
Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau said Viktor Fasth (lower-body) will "full-on" practice tomorrow.

Fasth made a brief appearance following the Ducks game-day skate this morning but is expected to be a full participant tomorrow. He will miss his 12th straight game tonight and it will be interesting where Fasth figures into the Ducks goalie situation. Frederik Andersen is 4-0 with a 1.36 GAA and .952 SV% since Fasth was sidelined.
