William Carrier News

Carrier has missed the last two games while nursing an undisclosed injury and was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday. Expect him to miss his third straight game on Tuesday.

Carrier played just 6:41 TOI in Dallas on Wednesday before leaving with a lower-body injury. Carrier is considered a game-time decision for Friday's game vs. the Ducks.

Carrier missed the first two games of the season in concussion protocol but will play Wednesday vs. the Blues. Carrier, who had 15 points (6G / 9A) in 52 games last season, will fill a familiar spot on the Golden Knights fourth line.

Carrier has 18 points (7G / 11A) in 65 games this season and ranks sixth in the NHL with 199 hits. Carrier was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer but is now signed through the 2024 season.

Carrier was believed to be a healthy scratch on Sunday but is dealing with an undisclosed ailment. Moving him to IR opened up a roster spot for Vegas to call-up Brandon Pirri from Chicago (AHL).

Golden Knights’ head coach Gerard Gallant would not confirm any lineup changes, but based on the morning skate it looks like Carrier will replace Ryan Reaves. Carrier has yet to record a point in nine playoff games but brings a physical edge to the fourth line.

Carrier played just 1:03 TOI before left the game in Washington and is questionable for Tuesday’s game in Pittsburgh. Head coach Gerard Gallant said postgame that he did think it’s anything serious and listed him as day-to-day.

Carrier is day-to-day with an upper-body injury so he will be held out of the lineup tonight vs. the Stars. Stefan Matteau is expected to draw in for his Golden Knights debut to replace Carrier.
