Bogosian will be evaluated later today, but head coach Phil Housley called him day-to-day for now. Bogosian has had terrible luck with injuries during his career, so this comes as no surprise. Bogosian could miss the start of the season, which starts next Thursday.

Bogosian was tangled up in practice on Wednesday and it is believed that he suffered an ankle injury that will cost him at least one month. Brendan Guhle was recalled earlier this week and now it looks like he’ll be here to stay while Bogosian is on the shelf.

Bogosian has had injury problems throughout his career, missing 90 of the last 271 games dating back to 2014-15. Bogosian will jump onto the Sabres’ second pair with Nathan Beaulieu—he had just two goals and nine assists (11 points) in 56 games with the Sabres last year.

The Sabres’ blueline has taken some lumps early this year so Bogosian’s return will be a big boon to their back-end.

Bogosian has had a terrible time with injuries during his career, missing a combined 64 games over the last three seasons. With Bogosian out, Matt Tennyson will be on the blueline, paired with Marco Scandella.

Bogosian will make his season debut tonight. Not the best matchup for a defenseman who missed the start of the season with a lower-body injury. The 25-year-old played an obscenely high 26:34 TOI with 2:32 coming on the power-play after being acquired by the Sabres last season. Bogosian had seven assists in 21 games with Buffalo and 20 points (3G / 10A) in 62 games overall. He is mobile for a big blueliner who possesses a heavy shot—30 points is not out of the realm of possibility.
