The Tampa Bay Lightning went to Washington on Tuesday with their season basically on the line. The Lightning responded with an inspired effort to get back into the series.

The Lightning gott off to a quick start, with Steven Stamkos firing home a rocket on the power-play midway through the first period. Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman each scored a goal early in the second period and the Lightning held on for a 4-2 win. Hedman finished with one goal and two assists and Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 36 of 38 shots that he faced to get back on-track.

After dropping both games on home-ice, the Lightning will try and take both in Washington to take this series back to Tampa Bay tied 2-2.
