The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly offered general manager Marc Bergevin a three-year contract extension, Sportsnet’s Eric Engels reported.

According to Engels, sources informed him Bergevin received a “lucrative, three-year deal” and one that neither the GM, nor owner Geoff Molson, would confirm.

This year marked his ninth with the organization after being hired as general manager and executive vice-president of hockey operations on May 2, 2012.

Since then, the Habs have won three division titles and made six playoff appearances. The longest run the club has been on since was in the 2013-14 season when Montreal made it to the conference finals before falling to the New York Rangers in six games.
