Roy Gets A Fresh Start in Dallas

After shipping off Mike Ribeiro to the Washington Capitals at the draft, the Dallas Stars had a void to fill up the middle.  After dealing for Cody Hodgson last season, the Buffalo Sabres had a logjam at the center position.  Two years removed from 26 goals and 69 points, Roy has significantly underperformed for the Sabres but the opportunity with the Stars presents an opportunity for him to start over with arguably a better supporting cast in Jamie Benn and Loui Eriksson.  The centre position is relatively deep again for 2012-13 but Roy could get back to his 70-point seasons putting him at a decent option for a #2 center for your fantasy team.

Moving the other way in the deal, Steve Ott offers value for the Sabres as his antagonistic ways will continue to see him deliver 150+ PIMs a season in a new division with other gritty teams.
