San Jose Sharks D Erik Karlsson is set to miss the rest of the year with a broken thumb.

The injury happened in a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets Friday night.

Karlsson, who leads the club in points (six goals, 34 assists) in 56 games this year, joins a long list of wounded Sharks.

Tomas Hertl is out for the year after suffering a torn ACL, while Logan Couture has been out of the lineup since Jan. 7 with a fractured ankle.

Karlsson missed 29 games last year with a groin injury.
