The San Jose Sharks will be without F Tomas Hertl for the remainder of the year after he suffered a torn ACL and MCL, the team announced Thursday.

The forward went down early in a Wednesday night game against the Vancouver Canucks after a collision that saw his lower body get pinned against the boards.

Hertl, 26, skated only 1:10 in the game but managed to score the goal’s opening game.

This season, Hertl has scored 16 goals and another 20 assists in 48 games this season. Hertl represented the Sharks in the 2020 all-star game last weekend.
