Schmidt, Tuch Expected to Play Thursday

The Vegas Golden Knights are getting a pair of integral players back in their lineup on Thursday. The team confirmed defenseman Nate Schmidt will play against the Canadiens, while forward Alex Tuch is considered likely to play. Schmidt missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury after suffering the injury on opening night. Tuch is yet to play this season due to an upper-body injury.

Lineup Implications

Head coach Gerard Gallant did not list the defensive pairs with Schmidt in, only confirming he would play. We won’t know who his partner will be until warmups, but you can safely assume Schmidt will be on the top pair tonight. Tuch, assuming he does play, will reclaim his spot on the third line. He’ll skate with centre Cody Eakin, his most common line-mate last season, and rookie Cody Glass. His return adds even more secondary scoring to an already deep lineup. Puck drop for tonight’s game against Montreal is set for 10:00 PM EST.
