The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has fined Seattle Kraken defenseman Carson Soucy $2,500 for roughing Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois on Sunday night.

The incident happened during the period, when Soucy punched Dubois from behind in front of Kraken goaltender Martin Jones.

A penalty was called, and the Jets tied the game up before eventually winning the game in overtime. Dubois wasn’t injured and remained in the contest. The decision comes a day after forward Blake Coleman was dinged $5,000 for slew-footing Dubois in Calgary’s victory over Winnipeg.

Soucy, 28, has four points in 16 games with the Kraken this year, his second year with the club. He had a career-high 10 goals and 21 points for the Kraken last year and has been a significant part of the team’s top four.
