Senators Opening Night Lines

According to the Ottawa Sun, the forward  lines that Senators coach Cory Clouston used at the teams practice on Wednesday should remain intact for the Senators final preseason game and carry forward to the start of the regular season.  Here they are:

Michalek – Spezza – Alfredsson

Fischer – Regin – Kovalev

Foligno – Shannon – Cheechoo

Ruutu – Kelly – Neil

The biggest surprise here is rookie Peter Regin penciled in to center the Sens second line between newly transformed left winger Mike Fisher and Alex Kovalev.  These combinations leave Shea Donovan and Christoph Schubert in the press box to start the regular season.
