Shane Doan returning as the Yotes face the Sens

UPDATED @ 12:34 PM:  Doan will return tonight after serving his three-game suspension.  See below for the full details, see new lines here.

Despite being a model citizen for most of his NHL career, Shane Doan will serve a three game suspension for a blindside hit to diminutive forward Dan Sexton.

The hit, delivered last night, did not remove Sexton from the game although Doan delivered a different hit which broke Cam Fowler’s nose inadvertently; the young defenseman is listed as probable for his next game.  Niklas Hjalmarsson received a lesser suspension despite serving a concussion to right wing Jason Pominville, which has kept him out of the lineup to date.

If you own Doan there are plenty of options on the waiver wire to replace him.  He will return to the ice when the Phoenix Coyotes play the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, October 26th.
