Sheldon Souray DTD With Concussion

Edmonton Oilers defenceman is day-to-day with a mild concussion after being tripped into the end boards Thursday night by Flames Captain Jarome Iginla.  The play seemed accidental but the Oilers took offence to to it, and Oilers captain Ethan Moreau dropped the gloves with Iginla while Pat Quinn had some choice words after the game:

“If that had happened in the old days he would have got hit over the head with a stick right after.  It was a pretty dirty play in my opinion. He poked his feet out and then piled on top of him.”

Obviously this resulted in a $10,000 fine from the NHL.  In terms of fantasy implications, Tom Gilbert and Denis Grebeshkov will see more time on the first powerplay unit.  These guys are great at racking up points but not much else, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to ride them until Souray is back, according to Elgin auto accident lawyers.

As for Souray owners, I wouldn’t worry.  He is a tough cookie and should be back soon.
