Steve Downie was a scratch last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs with what the team is calling “back and neck” injuries. According to Lightning coach Guy Boucher, Downie will not make the two-game road trip with the team to face the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Downie, who played Saturday against the San Jose Sharks, has been battling a back injury after sustaining a hit from Kings’ defenseman Drew Doughty last Thursday in Los Angeles.  The team stated that Downie is feeling better and could make an appearance over the weekend against the Minnesota Wild.  Downie, who has eight points this season over 13 games, was replaced on the top line by Adam Hall last night.

Tampa is expected to recall another forward for the road trip , but a corresponding move has not been made.  Here are the most updated lines as of last night’s game against the Leafs.

Stay tuned for further updates as we receive them.
