Mrazek will likely start for the fourth straight on Friday night when the Blackhawks host the New York Rangers. Despite losing his last four games, the 31-year-old Mrazek has been excellent lately, allowing two or fewer goals in each contest, and boasting a dazzling .941 SV%. That said, the Blackhawks rank worst in the league offensively (2.06 GF / GP) and will be hard-pressed for a victory as +257 home underdogs against the Rangers.

Killorn has missed the last six games with a knee injury and is progressing toward returning to the Ducks' lineup over the next couple of weeks. In his first season with the Ducks, Killorn has 19 points (6G / 13A) in 34 games, his lowest point-per-game pace in six seasons.

Mintyukov has been out of the lineup since January 9th, missing 10 games with a shoulder injury, but appears to be nearing a return. The rookie defender was enjoying an impressive first season in the NHL, registering 19 points (2G / 17A), 56 hits, and 43 blocks in 40 games.

Trouba will return to action on Wednesday after serving a two-game suspension. The veteran blueliner has been a multi-category force for the Rangers this season, highlighted by two points (0G / 2A), 11 shots, and nine hits in his last four games. Zac Jones will be a healthy scratch, allowing Trouba to re-enter the lineup.

Husso wasn't scheduled to start on Wednesday but will be out of the lineup entirely after coming down with an illness. Husso has not played a game since returning to the lineup last week and will likely continue to be a secondary option between the pipes as long as Alex Lyon continues to give the Red Wings solid goaltending regularly.

The Flyers completed their second signing of the day Friday as they extended 25-year-old centre Ryan Poehling for two-years, and $3.8 million ($1,900,000 AAV). The fourth year pro is having a career year in his first season in Philadelphia with five goals, nine assists, 55 SOG, six PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 44 games played.

Johnston will take the place of Bo Groulx, who will be a healthy scratch. Johnston is yet to score a goal in 34 games this season.

With the Blackhawks on the back end of their road back-to-back games, Petr Mrazek will take the net Thursday in Edmonton. The 31-year-old is fresh off of signing a two-year, $8.5 million contract on Wednesday and has a 12-17-1 record, 3.01 GAA and .907 SV%. He takes on the red-hot Edmonton Oilers, who are on a historic 14 game winning streak and rank fourth in the NHL in goals per game (3.51).

Husso has not played since December 18th, when he suffered a lower-body injury, and, as a result, has been loaned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL for a conditioning stint before returning to the Red Wings. Husso, sporting a 3.53 GAA and .893 SV% through 18 games (9-5-2-), will likely serve as the backup to Alex Lyon upon his return.

As a result of his strong play, Mrazek has been rewarded with a two-year, $8.5 million ($4,250,000 AAV) contract extension. He should continue to see an edge in starts over Arvid Soderblom for the remainder of the season.

Johnston will sit to make room for Brock McGinn, who will draw back into the lineup. Johnston has no goals and two assists in 34 games this season.
