Johnston has picked up three goals and eight assists (11 points) in 37 games with the Sound Tigers this season. His call-up is likely precautionary as the Islanders head out on a three-game road-trip. Johnston likely won’t play unless someone gets banged up on the trip.

Kreider is already out with a blood clot in his arm and will undergo surgery to have a rib resected and will remain out for an extended period of time.

Kreider reportedly left the first period because his arm felt weird and he was sent to the hospital where they discovered he has a blood clot in his arm. Kreider will be sidelined for an extended period of time. Players with similar blood clots have missed about 6-8 weeks.

Kreider did not return after the first period of Wednesday’s shootout win over the Capitals after sustaining an upper-body injury. Head coach Alain Vigneault said that they will have an update on Kreider on Thursday, so consider him questionable for Friday’s game in Detroit.

Mrazek allowed three goals on 24 shots before departing the Red Wings OT loss to the Devils with an injury. The injury was not serious as Mrazek was available to backup for the last two games and will start tonight in Montreal. Mrazek has not started a lot this season, but comes in at 2-3-0 with a 2.78 GAA and .913 SV% on the road.

Mrazek gave up two goals on nine shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings’ loss to Edmonton Wednesday. With Howie going last night, Mrazek gets the nod tonight vs. New Jersey. The 25-year-old has barely played this season, going 2-3-1 with a 3.10 GAA and .905 SV% in five starts and two relief appearances.

Mrazek stopped all 36 shots that he faced in the Red Wings shutout win over the Oilers on Sunday. Mrazek has played well so far this season, stopping 145 of the 157 shots (.924 SV%) that he has faced in four starts and one relief appearance. Tonight he faces a Flames team that is second last in the NHL in scoring, averaging just 2.40 goals per game.

Gudas exited Wednesday’s game after being hit by Brandon Saad and will not be in the lineup tonight in St. Louis. With Gudas out, the Flyers will dig deeper into the D-man pool, bringing Will O’Neill in to make his NHL debut. Consider Gudas as questionable for Saturday’s game.

Gudas left yesterday’s game in the first period after being hit by Blackhawks’ forward Brandon Saad. This is another big blow to the Flyers’ blueline that is already without Shayne Gostisbehere, Andrew MacDonald and Samuel Morin. Consider Gudas as doubtful for Thursday's game in St. Louis.

Granlund has been sidelined by a groin injury since the season opener, but will draw back in tonight vs. Vancouver after a five-game absence. Granlund, the Wild’s leading scorer last season, will be back on a line with Mikko Koivu and Jason Zucker.

Mrazek stopped 19 of 21 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings’ loss in Toronto on Wednesday. After allowing a goal on the first shot that he faced, Mrazek settled in and nearly led a Red Wings’ comeback. So far this season he has stopped 72 of 80 shots (.900 SV%) and he will be in tough tonight vs. the high-powered Capitals.
