Alexander Steeves has been loaned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

Steeves got his first taste of NHL action this season over the weekend as he played in each of the Maple Leaf's games vs. Columbus and failed to pick up a point on three SOG. He heads back to the Marlies (AHL) for a few days as the Maple Leafs are off until Wednesday but is expected to be recalled when that date comes back around.

The Canadiens have signed Jordan Harris to a two-year contract extension worth $2.8 million ($1.4M AAV).

Harris has a goal, 10 assists, 48 SOG, 18 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 47 games this season and has agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $2.8 Million ($1.4 Million AAV) with the Montreal Canadiens. The deal will make the 22-year-old a Canadien until at least the end of the 2024-25 season.

Steeves had 14 goals, 22 assists, 24 PIMs and a -3 plus/minus through 44 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and has earned his first call-up of the season to the Maple Leafs. The 23-year-old centre had previously played in three NHL games in 2021-22 where he picked up his first and only career assist.

Mark Kastelic will not play Wednesday vs. the New York Islanders (Undisclosed).

Kastelic is "banged up" and will not be able to play Wednesday vs. the New York Islanders. Dylan Gambrell will be taking his spot in the bottom-six. The 23-year-old has four goals, one assist and a -10 plus/minus through 43 games this season.

Swayman stopped 31 of 32 shots (.969 SV%) for his fourth straight win as he beat the New York Rangers in his previous start. The 24-year-old has been exceptional as part of the deadly Bruins' two-headed combo, with his 11-3-3 record, 2.26 GAA and .916 SV%. He will take on the Montreal Canadiens, who have surprisingly won three of their last four games even though they are 28th in goals per game (2.57) and 30th in shots per game (28.0).

He takes on the New York Rangers, who have won three of their last four games and are eighth in the NHL in shots per game (32.9).

Pavel Zacha has signed a four-year, $4.75 Million extension with the Boston Bruins.

Zacha is on pace for the strongest offensive output of his eight-year career with five goals, 20 assists, 64 SOG and a +10 plus/minus through 42 games in his first season in Boston and has signed a four-year, $4.75 million extension Saturday.

Swayman will start Monday afternoon vs. the Flyers.

Swayman stopped 28 of 29 shots (.966 SV%) for his second straight victory as he beat Anaheim in his previous start. The Bruins' backup netminder has really picked it up as of late, leading to his 9-3-3 record, 2.51 GAA and .905 SV%. They will face the red-hot Philadelphia Flyers, who have won seven of their last eight games after a 3-1 victory over Washington last game.

The Blackhawks reassigned Lukas Reichel to Rockford (AHL).

Sending Reichel back to the AHL suggests that Patrick Kane will be back in the Blackhawks' lineup on Saturday. Reichel looked good in his four-game stint, scoring one goal with two assists (three points). Reichel returns to the AHL, where he's now third on the team with 36 points (14G / 22A) in 32 games this season.

Jokiharju has not played since Dec. 9th due to a lower-body injury but was activated off the injured reserve Tuesday. Prior to his injury, the 23-year-old has one goal, three assists, 20 SOG, 12 PIMs and a +2 plus/minus through 16 games.

Michael Eyssimont will make his Sharks' debut Tuesday vs. Arizona.

Eyssimont will make his San Jose debut Tuesday after getting claimed off waivers from Winnipeg last week. The 26-year-old had a goal, four assists and a +5 plus/minus through 19 games with the Jets prior to being waived and scooped up by the Sharks.
