Mittelstadt will see a specialist on Friday to determine the severity of his upper-body injury. Expect the Sabres to provide a detailed timeline within the next 24 hours.

McAvoy missed Saturday's game vs. the Lightning but was a full participant in Tuesday's practice and is expected to play Wednesday in Vancouver. McAvoy has been a little quiet as of late, registering just two assists in his last seven games.

Steeves was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Notre Dame and has scored seven goals with five assists (12 points) in 12 games with the Marlies this season. He'll slot in on the Maple Leafs' fourth line on Tuesday.

McAvoy was not on the ice for Saturday's morning skate and will be a game-time decision. With McAvoy absent, Mike Reilly took over on the top power-play unit during the session.

Mittelstadt has been out since suffering an upper-body injury in the Sabres' season opener. On Wednesday, he skated on the third line with Zemgus Girgensons and Rasmus Asplund but should be back on the top power-play unit in his first game back.

Borgen was a shot-blocking machine in Buffalo on Monday, so it's not surprising that he picked up a lower-body injury. Jeremy Lauzon will replace Borgen on Wednesday.

Jokiharju has been out since the season opener but will replace Will Butcher in the lineup on Monday. Jokiharju has 23 points (7G / 16A) in 116 games with the Sabres.
