The Canucks have acquired Tanner Pearson from the Penguins for Erik Gudbranson.

Pearson got off to a nice start in Pittsburgh but dropped down the depth chart after they added Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann. Overall, Pearson has nine goals and six assists (15 points) in 61 games between the Kings and Penguins. He has a much better chance to play in the Canucks top-6 and could slot onto the top line with Bo Horvat right away.

The Canucks have recalled Luke Schenn from Utica (AHL).

Schenn played in eight games with the Ducks earlier this season but has been in the AHL since being traded to the Canucks. Since the trade, Schenn, who is not known for his offence, has five points (1G / 4A) in seven games. He should make his Canucks debut on the weekend with both Chris Tanev and Alexander Edler out.
