Lyon will start vs. New York on Thursday.

The Red Wings have been giving up a plethora of goals lately, outscored 15-9 in their previous three games (0-2-1) and will turn to Lyon between the pipes on Thursday against the New York Islanders. The 28-year-old Lyon has had an up-and-down 2024-25 campaign, posting a 3.14 GAA and .903 SV% in seven games (2-4-0).

Rosen has been recalled from Rochester (AHL).

Rosen made his NHL debut last season, playing seven games with the Sabres, but has predominantly been an AHL player, including scoring 13 points (4G / 9A) in 14 games with the Rochester Americans this season. The 21-year-old Rosen was the 14th overall pick of the Sabres in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Greenway is week-to-week with an undisclosed injury and will not travel on Buffalo's upcoming road trup.

Greenway played a season-low 13:26 time-on-ice on Thursday and exited practice early on Friday due to an undisclosed injury. He did not play on Saturday and will be out week-to-week. The 27-year-old Greenway is averaging 16:17 time-on-ice, recording six points (3G / 3A), and 40 hits in 16 games this season.

Tuch (undisclosed) is dealing with an ailment and will be a game-time decision in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Tuch has been tremendous this season for the Sabres but could be at risk of missing his first game of the season on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Tuch is averaging a career-high 20:01 time-on-ice and has 17 points (5G / 12A) in 18 games this season.

Georgiev (upper-body) has been placed on Injured Reserve.

Georgiev is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but he was placed on IR retroactive to November 13th and will be out of the lineup until at least November 21st, when Colorado visits the Washington Capitals. Justus Annunen will likely see the bulk of the work in the crease during Georgiev's absence.

Thompson was placed on IR retroactive to Monday's game, when he scored a goal to extend his goal-scoring streak to four games, but exited the contest after only 6:49 time-on-ice due to a lower-body injury. Thompson did not play on Thursday and will not play on Saturday. The 27-year-old Thompson has been off to a terrific start to the 2024-25 campaign, with 18 points (11G / 7A) in 15 games and could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

Lyon will start in Anaheim on Friday.

Returning from a lower-body injury, Lyon will be between the pipes for the Red Wings for the first time since October 30th. Before his injury, Lyon allowed 10 combined goals in his previous two outings (0-2-0) but has been reliable most of the season, posting a solid 2.78 GAA and .916 SV% in six games (2-3-0). The Red Wings enter the action on Friday as -147 road favorites against an Anaheim Ducks club that has scored 33 goals this season, the fewest in the NHL.

Justus Annunen will start for Colorado on Friday as Georgiev is battling an upper-body injury. Georgiev's day-to-day prognosis is a promising one for a netminder finally starting to regain his form in the crease after a terrible start to the 2024-25 season, allowing only nine total goals in his previous four games (3-1-0) and posting a .913 SV%.

Levi has only started one game since October 17th and has an ugly 4.10 GAA and .866 SV% in five outings this season (1-4-0). That said, the Sabres enter Thursday's contest as -169 home favorites against a St. Louis Blues club outscored 15-5 during a three-game losing skid.
