The Red Wings will turn Lyon between the pipes on Saturday for his third start in their last four contests. The 31-year-old Lyon has been stellar to start the 2024-25 campaign, boasting a tremendous 1.46 GAA and .955 SV% in four appearances (2-1-0).

Sheary was placed on waivers on Wednesday and has been assigned to the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) after clearing on Thursday. The 32-year-old Sheary has zero points and a -2 plus/minus in three games this season. That said, the Avalanche enter Friday's matchup as sizeable -254 home favorites in search of their first win of the season when they host the Anaheim Ducks.
