Timmins played in four straight games but will come out of the lineup on Saturday so Philippe Myers can make his season debut. Timmins has picked up two assists in seven games this season.

After being outscored 15-8 in their first four games (1-3-0), the Red Wings have eased into some stability, outscoring their opposition 11-5 during a three-game winning streak. The Red Wings will turn Lyon between the pipes on Saturday for his third start in their last four contests. The 31-year-old Lyon has been stellar to start the 2024-25 campaign, boasting a tremendous 1.46 GAA and .955 SV% in four appearances (2-1-0).

Sheary was placed on waivers on Wednesday and has been assigned to the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) after clearing on Thursday. The 32-year-old Sheary has zero points and a -2 plus/minus in three games this season. Sheary had 53 points (23G / 30A) in 61 games in his second NHL season in 2016-17 but has only recorded more than 40 points once in seven seasons since.

Sheary will dress on Tuesday as the Lightning are opting to get some fresh legs into the lineup for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Cam Atkinson will sit in his place.

For the first time this season, in their eighth game, the Sabres will use the same netminder in consecutive games, turning to Luukkonen again to occupy the crease on Tuesday evening against the Dallas Stars. Luukkonen was stellar in his previous outing, saving 35 of 37 shots (.946 SV%) in a 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. That said, Luukkonen has a less appealing 3.26 GAA and .895 SV% this season (1-3-0), and the Sabres are +126 home underdogs against a Dallas Stars club that defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 in their last contest.

The Red Wings ended a two-game losing skid where they were outscored 9-3 with a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday with Lyon between the pipes and will ride him again on Tuesday against the New York Islanders. Lyon has saved 52 of the last 54 shots he's faced (.963 SV%) and could secure more regular playing time with another strong performance. The Red Wings enter action on Tuesday as +146 road underdogs against an Islanders club that will be without Anthony Duclair (undisclosed), one of their biggest offensive threats.

Benson has played six of seven games to start the season for the Sabres, scoring zero points and recording a -4 plus/minus, but will miss his second contest on Tuesday against the Dallas Stars. Jordan Greenway, who missed the last game due to an undisclosed injury, will draw back into the Sabres lineup.

Cam Atkinson will likely draw back into Tampa Bay's lineup on Monday night, resulting in Sheary being a healthy scratch. Sheary has played two of the last three games for Tampa Bay, recording a -1 plus/minus, four penalty minutes, and one hit.

Despite a surprising 0-4-0 start to the season, the Avalanche, one of three teams without a win this season, will turn to Georgiev in the crease for the fifth straight game to start the season. Georgiev had a rough 2023-24 campaign, posting a pedestrian 3.02 GAA and .897 SV% in 63 games (38-18-5), but the 28-year-old netminder has been abysmal to start the 2024-25 season, showcasing an unsightly 5.79 GAA and .802 SV%. That said, the Avalanche enter Friday's matchup as sizeable -254 home favorites in search of their first win of the season when they host the Anaheim Ducks.

The Red Wings goalie carousel to start the season will continue on Saturday against the Nashville Predators when Lyon returns to the crease. Detroit has a 1-3-0 record to start the season and they have allowed three or more goals in three games and are desperate to find consistent goaltending. Lyon allowed three goals on 27 shots (.889 SV%) in his only start of the season but was excellent in relief of Cam Talbot in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers when he saved all 15 shots he faced.
