Stone appeared in just 14 NHL games and three AHL games last season and the Flames have bought out the final-year of his contract. The emergence of Rasmus Andersson and Juuso Valimaki pushed Stone down the depth chart.

Babcock added that there may be a press release regarding Kadri’s injury, which suggests he could miss some time. This would obviously be a huge loss heading into the playoffs if that is the case but we update any further information as it is provided.
Backlund was rested on Monday but is expected to replace Sean Monahan in the lineup on Wednesday.
