Kochetkov is in the starter's crease at Carolina's morning skate.

The Hurricanes have won nine of their last 10 (9-1-0) and will likely turn to Kochetkov between the pipes on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators. Kochetkov struggled in his previous outing, allowing seven goals on 25 shots (.720 SV%) in a 7-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. The 25-year-old goalie has a 2.49 GAA and .902 SV% in 41 appearances this season (25-12-3). The Hurricanes enter Tuesday's contest as sizeable -272 home favorites against a Predators squad that has scored fewer than two goals in five of their last six games (1-4-1).

Svechnikov (lower-body) will remain out on Tuesday but is optimistic to return on Friday vs. Montreal.

Svechnikov will miss his seventh consecutive game due to a lower-body injury but could return to the lineup on Friday against the Montreal Canadiens. The 24-year-old Svechnikov is averaging 17:29 time-on-ice and has 43 points (18G / 25A) in 63 games this season.
