Kochetkov will start Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Kochetkov allowed three goals on 41 shots but was the unlucky overtime loser for his fourth straight defeat as he took on Boston in his previous start. The 23-year-old rookie has played well in limited starts despite what his 2-1-3 record may show, posting a .913 SV% and 2.33 GAA. He takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are ninth in the NHL in both goals per game (3.45) and shots per game (33.0).

Frederick Andersen is not close to returning to the Hurricanes' lineup (undisclosed).

Rod Brind'Amour announced today that "Nobody's close to getting back." Meaning the Hurricane's all-start netminder will find himself on the shelf for even longer with an undisclosed injury. Andersen had struggled a bit this season after finishing fourth in Vezina Trophy voting in 2021-22, posting a .891 SV% and 2.72 GAA but a decent 5-3-0 record all the same.
