Chicago has signed Ian Cole to a one-year, $4.0 million contract.

Cole spent the previous two seasons with the Utah Mammoth and will have a change of scenery in 2026-27, signing a one-year, $4.0 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, his 10th NHL team. The 37-year-old defenseman scored 23 points (3G / 20A) last season in 82 games.

After spending his first five NHL seasons with the Nashville Predators, the team traded him to Vegas mid-season in 2025-26. The 30-year-old forward will have another change of scenery entering year seven of his career, signing a three-year contract extension worth $3.0 million AAV with the Chicago Blackhawks. He scored 12 points (8G / 4A) in 63 combined games last season.

The Blackhawks are signing Bowen Byram to a six-year deal worth $12.5M AAV ($75.0M total).

Byram's rights were acquired by Chicago on June 23rd for Jordan Greenway and the 2026 4th overall pick and the 25-year-old has signed a six-year deal worth $12.5M AAV ($75.0M total). He is entering his seventh NHL season with his third team (COL, BUF) after putting up career highs in Goals (11), points (42), and SOG (109) in 2025-26 with Buffalo. He is expected to be a key piece of Chicago's defensive unit for years to come.

Bowen Byram
The Blackhawks have acquired Jordan Greenway and Bowen Byram from the Sabres for Louis Crevier, the No.4 overall pick in 2026 and the No.45 overall pick in 2026.

Greenway has battled injuries the past few seasons, but will get a fresh start in 2026-27, joining the Chicago Blackhawks with one year remaining in his contract, which has a $4 million AAV. The 29-year-old forward has been limited to only 74 combined games in his last two seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, scoring 14 points (4G / 10A).

The Blackhawks have acquired Bowen Byram and Jordan Greenway from the Sabres for Louis Crevier, the No.4 overall pick in 2026 and the No.45 overall pick in 2026.

Byram will head to the Chicago Blackhawks with one year remaining on his contract, which has an AAV of $6.25 million. The 25-year-old Byram averaged 22:20 time-on-ice and scored 42 points (11G / 31A) in 82 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season while playing in a secondary role behind the team's top blueliner, Rasmus Dahlin. Byram will likely see increased deployment in Chicago and play see time with the team's top powerplay unit.

He hopes to rebound in Chicago's final game of the season, entering the action as +106 home underdogs against a San Jose Sharks team coming off a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators.

Moore has not played since suffering an upper-body injury in early March and will likely miss Chicago's final game of the season. The 21-year-old rookie is averaging 12:51 time-on-ice, scoring 19 points (5G / 14A) in 51 games this season. He had three points (0G / 3A) in four games leading up to his injury.

Greenway is expected to be scratched on Monday.

Tanner Pearson will re-enter Buffalo's lineup on Monday, sending Greenway to the press box as a healthy scratch. The 29-year-old Greenway has missed significant time due to injuries this season and has trouble regularly fitting into the lineup when healthy. He is averaging 12:20 time-on-ice and has six points (1G / 5A) in 38 games this season.

Knight had a forgetful performance in his most recent outing, allowing a season-high seven goals on 22 shots (.682 SV%) in a 7-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The 24-year-old goalie is amid his worst stretch of the season, losing seven straight (0-5-2) while posting an ugly 3.92 GAA and .875 SV%. The Blackhawks enter Monday's contest as +174 home underdogs against the Atlantic Division-leading Buffalo Sabres.

Spencer Knight
Del Mastro (undisclosed) is expected to play on Monday.

Del Mastro missed Chicago's previous game with an undisclosed injury and is expected to return vs. Buffalo on Monday. The 23-year-old shut down defensemen has yet to pick up a point in any of his 17 appearances this season, but has 18 PIMs and is a -11 plus/minus while averaging just 14:01 TOI.

Ethan Del Mastro
Nazar (face) is expected to play on Monday.

Nazar exited Chicago's 5-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday after only 7:24 time-on-ice, but he should be back in the lineup on Monday against the Buffalo Sabres. The 22-year-old Nazar is averaging 18:20 time-on-ice and has 41 points (15G / 26A) in 64 games this season.
