With Spencer Knights recently returning from an illness, Soderblom has seen a heavier-than-usual workload and will return to the crease on Thursday against the Utah Mammoth. The 26-year-old Soderblom was perfect against Utah two weeks ago, saving all 22 shots he faced in a 4-0 win. He has a 2.75 GAA and .890 SV% in three games since the beginning of March (1-1-1). The Blackhawks enter Thursday's contest as sizeable +196 road underdogs against a Mammoth team they have defeated twice in the last two weeks.

Soderblom is a surprise starter on Friday night, filling in for Spencer Knight, who is out with an illness. The fact that Soderblom is coming off his first career NHL shutout does definitely soften the blow of Knight's absence. The 26-year-old Soderblom stopped every shot he faced in a 4-0 win in Utah on Sunday. Soderblom carries a 6-9-2 record and an .879 SV% into Friday night's matchup, where the Hawks enter action at -160 on the money line.

Pouliot, an NHL veteran of 226 games, has almost exclusively played in the AHL over the past three seasons. The 32-year-old forward scored 28 points (2G / 26A) in 52 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) this season.
