Ellis has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since January 8th. His return to the Predators morning skate is a good sign that he is progressing well and close to being back in the lineup.

Ellis has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since January 8th. His return to the Predators morning skate is a good sign that he is progressing well and close to being back in the lineup.

Murphy missed Tuesday’s game in St. Louis, but will be back in tonight vs. the Sharks. Murphy has no points in his last eight games and has just six points (3G / 3A) in 49 games this season.

With Kris Versteeg back in the lineup, Teravainen was a healthy scratch on Wednesday. The 20-year-old had two goals and two assists in 15 games during his recall. He returns to the AHL where he has tallied six goals and 17 assists (23 points) in 33 games.

Burakovsky was sent down yesterday in order for the Capitals to recall Philipp Grubauer, who was given the start last night. Burakovsky should be back in the Capitals lineup on Sunday vs. Philadelphia.

It seems like the Capitals really wanted to start Philipp Grubauer tonight vs. the Ducks. They recalled him this morning and sent Burakovsky down to make room for him. The call-up is not expected to be long-term, so expect Burakovsky back soon.

Ellis did not participate in the Predators morning skate, but he skated alone prior to the team’s practice session. Ellis has been sidelined since January 8th and will likely miss another week before returning.

Ellis was injured in Thursday’s game vs. the Stars and will miss at least the next five games. He will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break and then a more detailed timeline will be released. The Predators did not recall a defenseman from Milwaukee for today’s game, so Anton Volchenkov must be ready to return.

Ellis left after playing just 11:16 TOI and did not return. Ellis had been playing really well, having registered two goals and three assists in his previous three games—5G / 13A, plus-12 in 40 games this season. If Ellis misses an extended period of time, it could open the door for veteran Ian White to make it back to the NHL.

Burakovsky, who served as a healthy scratch during the Winter Classic and has only played in two of the last eight games, skated on the top-line in practice on Saturday morning. It looks like he will go from the doghouse to the penthouse. He has 13 points (4G / 9A) in 28 games this season.

Teravainen, 20, has six goals and 17 assists in 33 games with the IceHogs this season. After a slow start as he adapted to the North American style of play (particularly the dump-and-chase style of the AHL), he had three goals and seven assists in his last 10 games.

Burakovsky will play in his first game since December 13th. He went down to Hershey for a brief conditioning stint, but will return to the Capitals lineup tonight.

Burakovsky, 19, did not record a point and was a minus-1 in two games with Hershey over the weekend. He was not playing with the Capitals, so they sent him back to get a few games in. Now that he is back, he could be in the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. He recorded 12 points (3G / 9A) in his first 15 games, but has just one goal in his last 11 games.

Burakovsky has served as a healthy scratch in five of the last six games. He had a hot start to the season and is an ultra talented player who likely won’t be in the minors for long.

Burakovsky has served as a healthy scratch for the last three games, but will be back in tomorrow. Coach Trotz had been platooning he and Evgeny Kuznetsov, so there is a good chance that it will be Kuznetsov who comes out, but if not, he could draw in on the fourth line for Michael Latta.

Murphy has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury that he suffered on December 1st. He will be paired with Andrew Campbell who was recalled from Portland on Friday. Murphy has four points (2G / 2A) in 25 games this season.

Murphy will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury that he suffered on Monday vs. the Oilers. He is listed as day-to-day.

Foligno missed just one game after injuring his neck and having to be stretchered off of the ice on Sunday vs. the Kings. It is a pretty miraculous recovery and the Jackets will be glad to get him back because their lineup is ravaged by injuries right now.

Foligno was on the ice for the Blue Jackets practice this morning and took line rushes, which is a good sign that he could be available on Friday. This would be rather impressive considering he was stretchered off of the ice less than a week ago. His return would definitely help an extremely depleted Blue Jackets lineup.

Foligno said he is feeling fine despite being stretchered off of the ice on Sunday. He is likely a little stiff and that should keep him off of the ice for a few days, but the news is positive for what was a scary incident. He is day-to-day.

Foligno was knocked out in a collision with the linesman on Sunday night and had to be stretchered off of the ice. He said that he had lost feeling in the one side of his body but it came back quickly. He underwent an MRI and X-rays on Monday and everything came back negative. He was diagnosed with a "stinger" and is day-to-day.
