The Blackhawks have reassigned Teuvo Teravainen to Rockford (AHL).

With Kris Versteeg back in the lineup, Teravainen was a healthy scratch on Wednesday. The 20-year-old had two goals and two assists in 15 games during his recall. He returns to the AHL where he has tallied six goals and 17 assists (23 points) in 33 games.

Ellis (lower-body) will be out until after the All-Start break.

Ellis was injured in Thursday’s game vs. the Stars and will miss at least the next five games. He will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break and then a more detailed timeline will be released. The Predators did not recall a defenseman from Milwaukee for today’s game, so Anton Volchenkov must be ready to return.

Ryan Ellis
Ellis left Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Ellis left after playing just 11:16 TOI and did not return. Ellis had been playing really well, having registered two goals and three assists in his previous three games—5G / 13A, plus-12 in 40 games this season. If Ellis misses an extended period of time, it could open the door for veteran Ian White to make it back to the NHL.

Burakovsky is expected to be on the Capitals top-line on Sunday.

Burakovsky, who served as a healthy scratch during the Winter Classic and has only played in two of the last eight games, skated on the top-line in practice on Saturday morning. It looks like he will go from the doghouse to the penthouse. He has 13 points (4G / 9A) in 28 games this season.

The Blackhawks have recalled Teuvo Teravainen from Rockford (AHL).

Teravainen, 20, has six goals and 17 assists in 33 games with the IceHogs this season. After a slow start as he adapted to the North American style of play (particularly the dump-and-chase style of the AHL), he had three goals and seven assists in his last 10 games.

The Capitals have recalled Andre Burakovsky from Hershey (AHL).

Burakovsky, 19, did not record a point and was a minus-1 in two games with Hershey over the weekend. He was not playing with the Capitals, so they sent him back to get a few games in. Now that he is back, he could be in the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. He recorded 12 points (3G / 9A) in his first 15 games, but has just one goal in his last 11 games.

Burakovsky will play on Saturday; no word on who comes out.

Burakovsky has served as a healthy scratch for the last three games, but will be back in tomorrow. Coach Trotz had been platooning he and Evgeny Kuznetsov, so there is a good chance that it will be Kuznetsov who comes out, but if not, he could draw in on the fourth line for Michael Latta.

Foligno (neck) hopes to play Friday.

Foligno was on the ice for the Blue Jackets practice this morning and took line rushes, which is a good sign that he could be available on Friday. This would be rather impressive considering he was stretchered off of the ice less than a week ago. His return would definitely help an extremely depleted Blue Jackets lineup.

Nick Foligno
Foligno (head/neck) is day-to-day, avoided serious injury.

Foligno was knocked out in a collision with the linesman on Sunday night and had to be stretchered off of the ice. He said that he had lost feeling in the one side of his body but it came back quickly. He underwent an MRI and X-rays on Monday and everything came back negative. He was diagnosed with a "stinger" and is day-to-day.
