Khudobin allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Stars loss to the Islanders last Sunday. Khudobin has been mostly up-and-down this season, ultimately compiling a 6-7-2 record, 2.81 GAA and .912 SV% in 15 starts and two relief appearances. Tonight he will see a Predators squad that has gone 14-5-0 in Nashville this season.
Athanasiou (upper-body) is expected to play Thursday in Pittsburgh.
Athanasiou missed the final two games before the Christmas break but is expected to retune to the lineup on Thursday. Athanasiou is expected to skate with Luke Glendening and Michael Rasmussen and returns with 11 goals and nine assists (20 points) in 32 games this season.

Brossoit gave up three goals on 37 shots in the Jets win in Chicago on December 14th. Brossoit has allowed at least three goals in four straight games but has won each of those games. The 25-year-old backup has gone 4-1-0 with a 2.67 GAA and .912 SV% on the road this year.
Athanasiou (upper-body) is a late scratch for Saturday's game vs. the Panthers.

The Flames have recalled Buddy Robinson from Stockton (AHL).
Robinson is a big winger (6-foot-6, 232 lbs.) has has 12 points (2G / 10A) and 20 PIMS in 26 games with Stockton this season. He has two points (1G / 1A) in seven career NHL games.
The Blues have recalled Zach Sanford from San Antonio (AHL).
Sanford had three goals and one assist in five games during his demotion. He returns to the Blues where he has collected nine points (4G / 5A) in 23 games this season.

The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Khudobin, who has a 2.73 GAA and .913 SV% in 14 appearances this season. Tonight he draws the tough task of facing the Avalanche in Colorado—Khudobin is 2-5-2 with a 2.81 GAA and .912 SV% on the road.

Brossoit will start Friday in Chicago.
Brossoit allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Jets win over the Blackhawks on Tuesday. Brossoit has registered three straight wins despite allowing a combined 10 goals on 101 shots (.901 SV%). Overall, his 2.27 GAA and .932 SV% is as impressive as it gets in the NHL right now and he has a nice matchup in Chicago but comes with some risk as the Jets enter on a back-to-back.

Khudobin will start Thursday in San Jose.
Khudobin allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Stars win over the Oilers on December 3rd. Khudobin has won his last two starts, allowing just four goals on 62 shots (.935 SV%). Khudobin draws a tough task as the starter behind a fatigued team in San Jose. He stopped 33 of 36 shots in a 4-3 win in his first start against the Sharks this season.
The Kings have placed Alec Martinez (upper-body) on IR.
Martinez has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury and his move to IR opens up a roster spot for the Kings to recall Daniel Brickley from Ontario (AHL).
Goalie Start
Brossoit will start Tuesday vs. the Blackhawks.
Brossoit allowed three goals on 39 shots in the Jets win in New Jersey on December 1st. Brossoit has been one of the better backups in the NHL this season, posting a 2.16 GAA and .935 SV% in seven games. Even more impressive, Brossoit is 2-0-1 with a 1.62 GAA and .958 SV% on home-ice and is an excellent spot-start option vs. the Blackhawks tonight.

The Ducks have sent Andy Welinski to San Diego (AHL).
Welinski heads back to the AHL because the Ducks needed to call-up Jared Coreau after Ryan Miller got hurt on Sunday. Welinski has six points (2G / 4A) in eight games with San Diego.
Martinez (upper-body) did not travel on the Kings four-game road-trip.
Martinez was banged up in the Kings game against the Golden Knights on Saturday and will not be in the lineup on Monday. Martinez could always join the team on the trip but for now expect him to miss at least the next four games. Paul LaDue will like draw into the lineup and replace him in Detroit.
The Kings have recalled Austin Wagner from Ontario (AHL).
Wagner has spent most of his season in the NHL but has three goals in seven games with Ontario. In 18 games with the Kings, the 21-year-old winger has one goal and three assists.
Murphy will make his season debut on Sunday.
The Blackhawks have activated Connor Murphy (back) from IR.
Murphy has missed the first 30 games of the season with a back injury but is set to make his season debut after being activated from IR. Murphy could play against the Habs on Sunday but doesn’t carry a lot of fantasy value. The 25-year-old had just 14 points (2G / 12A) in 76 games last year.
