Chicago Blackhawks News

The Capitals have recalled Andre Burakovsky from Hershey (AHL).

Burakovsky, 19, did not record a point and was a minus-1 in two games with Hershey over the weekend. He was not playing with the Capitals, so they sent him back to get a few games in. Now that he is back, he could be in the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. He recorded 12 points (3G / 9A) in his first 15 games, but has just one goal in his last 11 games.

Burakovsky will play on Saturday; no word on who comes out.

Burakovsky has served as a healthy scratch for the last three games, but will be back in tomorrow. Coach Trotz had been platooning he and Evgeny Kuznetsov, so there is a good chance that it will be Kuznetsov who comes out, but if not, he could draw in on the fourth line for Michael Latta.

Foligno (neck) hopes to play Friday.

Foligno was on the ice for the Blue Jackets practice this morning and took line rushes, which is a good sign that he could be available on Friday. This would be rather impressive considering he was stretchered off of the ice less than a week ago. His return would definitely help an extremely depleted Blue Jackets lineup.

Nick Foligno
Foligno (head/neck) is day-to-day, avoided serious injury.

Foligno was knocked out in a collision with the linesman on Sunday night and had to be stretchered off of the ice. He said that he had lost feeling in the one side of his body but it came back quickly. He underwent an MRI and X-rays on Monday and everything came back negative. He was diagnosed with a "stinger" and is day-to-day.

The Red Wings have signed Tyler Bertuzzi to a three-year entry level contract.

Bertuzzi, 19, is the nephew of former Red Wing Todd Bertuzzi and was the Wings' second round pick (58th overall) in 2013. He is in his fourth season with the Guelph Storm of the OHL and has started the season with one goal and four assists (five points) in six games. He had 34 points (9G / 25A) in 29 games last year.

The Blackhawks have sent Teuvo Teravainen down to Rockford (AHL).

Teravainen has only played in three games since arriving to Chicago. He has not recorded a point, only four shots and one hit. Sending him to the AHL will give him a chance to play a bunch on minutes and get more acclimated with the North American game. There's no doubting this kid's talent, but he won't improve by sitting in the press box every night. He is a top prospect, with a very bright future ahead of him.

Teuvo Teravainen
Teravainen will be a healthy scratch on Friday.

Teravainen will slide out of the lineup in the second game of a back-to-back which means Peter Regin will dress. #TeuvoMania has averaged 12:44 TOI with no shots, no penalty minutes and no points in his first two NHL games. He is not showing up on the stat sheet yet, but the Blackhawks are pleased with the young Finns playmaking ability and are simply giving him the night off.

Teuvo Teravainen
Teravainen confirms that he will make his NHL debut on Tuesday.

Teravainen is expected to open up his NHL career as the third line centre with Brandon Saad and Ben Smith on his wings. He come over from Finland where he finished tied for sixth in the league with 44 regular-season points. He had nine goals and 35 assists in 49 games.

Teuvo Teravainen
Teravainen was officially recalled from Jokerit of SM-Liija in Finland, as the Blackhawks prepare to host the Carolina Hurricanes Friday.

It is very unlikely that Teravainen will be in the lineup on Friday, but with the injury to Patrick Kane (knee), it definitely opens the door for the talented Finn to potentially move into a top-6 role relatively quickly. He is undersized, but tremendously skilled, something other NHL teams probably don't think the Blackhawks need.
