Blackwood is expected to start in Vancouver on Monday.

Blackwood was tremendous in his Colorado debut on Saturday, saving 37 of 39 shots (.949 SV%) in a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators, and will likely return to the crease on Monday against the Vancouver Canucks. The 28-year-old Blackwood has a 2.95 GAA and .912 SV% in 20 games (7-9-3) and could be in line to pace for career-best totals if his first game with his new club is any indication. Colorado enters Monday's contest as -151 road favorites against a Vancouver club coming off a 5-1 loss to the Boston Bruins.

Wedgewood will start vs. Utah on Thursday.

Mackenzie Blackwood was skating with Colorado at their morning skate on Thursday but is not ready to debut yet, leaving the crease to Wedgewood. The 32-year-old Wedgewood has been tremendous since joining Colorado, posting a supreme 1.59 GAA and .944 SV% in four appearances (3-1-0). Colorado enters Thursday's contest as a -173 home favorite against a Utah team that has scored four or more goals in four of their last five (3-1-1).

Scott Wedgewood
Drury (undisclosed) left Tuesday's game vs. San Jose early and did not return.

Drury suffered the injury in the first period of Tuesday's game and was unable to return. Jesperi Kotkaniemi stepped up in Drury's absence and will likely be the benefactor of increased playing time if Drury's injury keeps him out of the lineup.

Wedgewood will start in Pittsburgh on Tuesday

With Colorado completely revamping their goaltending and trading away Justus Annunen and Alexandar Georgiev, Wedgewood will start on Tuesday but will likely take a secondary role behind Mackenzie Blackwood down the stretch. Wedgewood has a 2.82 GAA and .906 SV% through eight games split between Colorado and Nashville (3-3-1) but has been excellent since joining the Avalanche, boasting a 1.44 GAA and .951 SV% in three appearances (2-1-0). Colorado enters Tuesday's contest as -156 road underdogs against a Pittsburgh Penguins club coming off an impressive 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Colorado has acquired Mackenzie Blackwood, Givani Smith, and a 2027 5th round pick from San Jose for Alexandar Georgiev, Nikolai Kovalenko, a 2026 2nd round pick and a 2025 5th round pick.

Colorado has addressed their goaltending issues this season by acquiring Mackenzie Blackwood from the San Jose Sharks. The 28-year-old Blackwood has been solid for a defensively troubled Sharks team this season, posting a 3.00 GAA and .909 SV% in 19 games (6-9-3). Blackwood will likely have the opportunity to control Colorado's crease for the remainder of the season, with Scott Wedgewood serving as his backup. Colorado also received Givani Smith and a 2027 fifth-round pick from the Sharks, with Alexandar Georgiev, Nikolai Kovalenko, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick going the other way.
