Nichushkin is expected to make his season debut on November 15th when first eligible.

Nichushkin was suspended for six months in May and has been cleared to practice with the Avalanche. In addition, he will make his season debut on November 15th, his first day of eligibility. Off-ice issues aside, Nichushkin has been dynamite in his last three seasons with the Avalanche, scoring 152 points (70G / 82A) in 169 games, and he will provide an offensive boost to an injury-depleted team upon his return to the lineup.

Prishchepov has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

The injury-depleted Avalanche, now without Matthew Stienburg due to a two-game suspension, have recalled another newcomer on Friday with the arrival of Prischepov. Stienburg has been suspended for two games for charging Tampa Bay's Erik Cernak.

Stienburg was assessed 17 minutes in penalties, including a game misconduct, in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Tampa Lightning for charging Erik Cernak. Colorado's forward group is already thin due to a myriad of injuries and resorted to using defenseman Oliver Kylington as a third-line winger. To Colorado's advantage, Artturi Lehkonen (shoulder) is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday, creating some relief for a team already struggling to fill out their lineup.

The 28-year-old Colton was leading Colorado with eight goals in 10 games and is another loss for an Avalanche club decimated with early-season injuries.

The Avalanche have placed Ross Colton (upper-body) on IR.

Colton was injured in Monday's loss and is expected to "miss some time," so it's not surprising to see him land on IR to open up a spot on the Avalanche roster for Wednesday's game. It's unclear whether Artturi Lehkonen or Jonathan Drouin are ready to make their returns to replace Colton or if they will need to recall a forward from the AHL.
