Jake Christiansen has been recalled from Cleveland (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Christiansen had eight goals, 22 assists, 53 PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through 47 games with Cleveland (AHL) and has been recalled to Columbus on an emergency basis Tuesday. The 23-year-old returns to the NHL, where he had three assists, four PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through 23 games in his previous call ups.

Christiansen has three assists, 25 SOG, four PIMs and a -7 plus/minus through 23 games with Columbus but has been reassigned to Cleveland (AHL) on Wednesday. The 23-year-old returns to Cleveland where he had eight goals, 21 assists, 51 PIMs and a +2 plus/minus prior to his call up.

Jet Greaves has been reassigned to Cleveland (AHL).

Greaves started his first career game Tuesday, stopping 46 of 49 shots (.939 SV%) in a hard-fought loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs but has been reassigned to the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) Wednesday. The 22-year-old netminder returns to Cleveland, where he was 16-14-5 with a .895 SV% and 3.23 GAA.

Yegor Chinakhov has been signed to a one-year, $800,000 contract extension for the 2023-24 season.

Chinakhov has four goals, nine assists, 44 SOG, 10 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 30 games with the Blue Jackets this season and has signed a one-year, contract extension for the 2023-24 season. The 22-year-old was Columbus' 2020 1st-round pick (21st overall).

Greaves will make his first career start on Tuesday.

Greaves had a 16-14-5 record, .895 SV% and 3.23 GAA with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) and will make his NHL debut Tuesday vs. Toronto. The 22-year-old was an undrafted free agent and will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have lost three of their last five games but are ninth in the NHL in goals per game (3.38).

Sean Monahan will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season after having groin surgery.

Monahan has been out since December 5th and will now miss the remainder of the season after successfully having groin surgery. The 28-year-old is an unrestricted free agent this offseason after having six goals, 11 assists, 55 SOG, 16 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 25 games prior to his injury.

Erik Gudbranson has a separated shoulder and is expected to miss the next six weeks.

Gudbranson left the Blue Jackets' previous game after 16:21 TOI due to a separated shoulder and is now expected to miss the next six weeks as he recovers. The 31-year-old will put a cap on his 2022-23 season, where he had a goal, 12 assists, 102 SOG, 57 PIMs and a -24 plus/minus through 70 games prior to his injury.

Hunter McKown is expected to make his NHL debut Friday vs. the New York Islanders.

McKown had 21 goals, seven assists, 30 PIMs and a -19 plus/minus through 38 games with Colorado College (NCAA) and will make his NHL debut Friday. The 20-year-old was an undrafted free agent who signed last week to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Elvis Merzlikins has returned to the Columbus Blue Jackets after taking a personal leave in Latvia.

Merlikins had been having a historically bad season, with his 7-17-2 record, 4.10 GAA and .880 SV% and had left the Blue Jackets' to return to Latvia for personal reasons. The 28-year-old returned Wednesday resulting in Daniil Tarasov returning to Cleveland (AHL).
