That said, Oettinger has been significantly stronger on the road this season, posting a .935 SV% in seven road games (5-1-1). DeSmith will draw the start for the first time in five games due to Vancouver being on a back-to-back as he is set to take on San Jose Saturday. Dumba signed a one-year, $3.9 million contract with Arizona in the offseason but has struggled out of the gate to produce with two goals, two assists, 25 SOG, 24 PIMs and a -9 plus/minus in 19 games and will be a healthy scratch Saturday. The 29-year-old will be replaced by Vladislav Kolyachonok, who is making his season debut.

The last time Oettinger had four or more days of rest between games, he saved 38 of 39 shots (.974 SV%). On the back end of a back-to-back, DeSmith will start for the Canucks on Thursday when they visit the Calgary Flames.
