The Red Wings placed Carter Rowney and Givani Smith in COVID-19 protocol, so Barber could make his Red Wings debut on Saturday. The 27-year-old forward has 16 points (7G / 9A) in 21 AHL games this season.

Both Harley and Riley Tufte were recalled from the AHL and travelled to St. Louis but it's unclear if either will play on Friday. Harley has no points in four career NHL games.

Heiskanen is now dealing with the non-COVID illness that has been bouncing around the Stars locker room. He did not travel to St. Louis, so he'll be replaced by either Thomas Harley or Joel Hanley.

Hintz missed the last two games with a non-COVID illness but will play Friday in St. Louis. Hintz has been red-hot, picking up 17 points (11G / 6A) in his last 14 games.
