Marchment has been in the lineup for the last three games but will be replaced by Dmytro Timashov on Wednesday.

DeSmith is not expected to play over the weekend. With a 5:00 pm game on Sunday, Tristan Jarry will remain in Pittsburgh, so DeSmtih will back up Matt Murray in Montreal and Jarry will start the Sunday game.

Marchment has two goals and two assists in 11 games with the Marlies (AHL) this season and was called up on Wednesday. The 24-year-old winger is 6-foot-4, 220 lbs. and will replace Dmytro Timashov and is expected to skate on the fourth line in his debut.

Marchment was an undrafted winger who has been with the Marlies since 2015-16 and has scored two goals with two assists (four points) in 11 games this season.

Rangers head coach David Quinn said that he's seen some "slippage" in Smith's play lately, so he will be replaced by Michael Haley against the Maple Leafs.

Blackwell was with the Predators prior to the break, picking up one assist in six games before being sent down for the break. Blackwell is third on the team in points (23) in 26 games with the Admirals this season.

Granlund missed Monday's morning skate and is expected to miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury. With Granlund out, Colton Sissons will skate on the Predators' second line with Kyle Turris and Matt Duchene.

Barber was called up from Laval (AHL) over the weekend and is leading the team with 18 points (6G / 12A) through 21 games. Barber is no stranger to posting high-end AHL numbers but has only appeared in three NHL games since being picked No.167 overall in 2012.

Rantanen returned to the lineup on Saturday but missed the third period. Rantanen had one goal and three assists before leaving and holding him out of the third period was likely more precautionary since the Avalanche were up massive. Rantanen was also held out of Monday's practice but was on the ice for the morning skate and will play in Toronto.

Rantanen, who has been out since October 21st, will miss Wednesday's game but will return to Colorado's lineup in Chicago on Saturday. Rantanen is expected to jump right back onto the right-side of Nathan Mackinnon and will try to build off of a hot-start that saw him register 12 points (5G / 7A) in his first nine games.

Rantanen joined his teammates for practice on Monday and head coach Jared Bednar left open the possibility of him playing by this weekend. Rantanen will likely miss his 15th consecutive game on Wednesday but monitor his status ahead of their Friday/Saturday home-and-home with the Blackhawks.
