Erne, who appeared in 26 games with the Lightning last year, has collected 12 goals and 14 assists (26 points) in 41 games with the Crunch this season. Erne will look to follow in the footsteps of fellow Crunch alumni Yanni Gourde and Matthew Peca, who have played well this year. He’ll debut on a line with Vladislav Namestnikov and Cory Conacher.
Rantanen was a game-time decision and didn’t end up playing last night vs. the Sharks. However the injury doesn’t appear to be serious, so Rantanen is expected to take part in the morning skate and they will make a decision on his status after that.

However, with Matt Murray back the Penguins likely want DeSmith to get some playing time so they’ve swapped him with Tristan Jarry, who has been getting playing time in the AHL for the last few weeks.
Capobianco, 20, has 22 points (2G / 20A) in 35 games with the Roadrunners this season and has been recalled to take Jason Demers’ spot on the roster. With Demers on IR, Capobianco could play in his second career game on Thursday.

As good as he has been, he will be in tough vs. a Wild team that has won four of their last five.

Duchene was listed as questionable on Monday and remains that way as he tries to get over the flu. Duchene missed the morning skate, which isn’t a good sign for his availability but the Senators will see how the afternoon goes. If he can’t play, look for Mark Borowiecki (concussion) to replace him as a seventh defenseman.
