Smith allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Flames loss to the Predators last Friday. David Rittich started the last two games, but Smith will be between the pipes tonight vs. the Penguins. Smith needs to be much better than the 3.38 GAA and .885 SV% that he posted in his first six starts, but has a difficult matchup tonight with the Penguins in town.
Dermott will come out of the Maple Leafs lineup on Wednesday, with Martin Marincin drawing back in. Dermott is day-to-day, but should be back for Saturday’s game vs. the Jets.
Caggiula missed Thursday’s game vs. the Bruins with a lower-body injury and his status for Saturday’s game remains in question. If Caggiula can’t play, look for Tobias Rieder to remain in the lineup.
Smith stopped 24 of 26 shots in the Flames win over the Bruins on Wednesday. Smith has won three of his last four starts while stopping 102 of 113 shots (.903 SV%). In his first start against the Predators, Smith stopped all 43 shots that he faced in a 3-0 shutout win.

Bouchard has yet to record a point while averaging just 12:59 TOI/GM in the first three games of his NHL career. Bouchard will be replaced by Matt Benning and take a look from the press box tonight.

Anton Forsberg suffered an injury during the Blackhawks morning skate, so Delia has been called-up to serve as Cam Ward’s backup. Delia was 17-7-2 with a 2.72 GAA and .900 SV% in 28 games with the IceHogs last year.
Murray was originally expected to miss the start of the season with his injury, but appears ready to go for opening night. He is projected to start the season on the Blue Jackets' second pair with Markus Nutivaara.
