Smith will start in goal for the Coyotes.

Smith stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Coyotes 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Smith has won two of three with a 2.59 GAA and .908 SV%. While he has played well as of late and draws a strong matchup tonight, Smith is still a risky start in all formats. He made 32 saves in a 3-0 loss in his first start vs. Carolina.

Smith gave up five goals on 20 shots in the Coyotes loss in Ottawa on Friday. Despite Louis Domingue recording the W on on Sunday, the Coyotes will go back to Smith tonight in Columbus. Smith has been terrible on the road this season, going 3-12-2 with a 3.43 GAA and .891 SV% away from the desert.

Smith will be in goal vs. the Senators on Saturday.

Smith allowed one goal on 25 shots in the Coyotes 3-1 win in Toronto on Thursday. It was his first win since January 8th and made him 3-5-2 with a 3.25 GAA and .902 SV% in January. In his first start against the Senators, he allowed five goals on 33 shots in a 5-1 loss.

The Blue Jackets have activated Ryan Murray (knee) from injured reserve.

Murray has missed the last 36 games with a knee injury. Murray, who also missed the first seven games of the season due to off-season knee surgery, has recorded two penalty minutes in four games this season. He collected 21 points (4G / 17A) in 66 games in his first NHL season in 2013-14. Expect him to return to the lineup on Saturday vs. Tampa Bay.

Smith allowed three goals on 42 shots in the Coyotes loss in Philadelphia on Tuesday. His dreadful season continues and he sits at 7-20-4 with a 3.49 GAA and .889 SV% on the season. However, he draws a strong matchup tonight against a Maple Leafs team who can’t buy a goal right now.

Murray (knee) will travel on the Blue Jackets upcoming two-game road-trip.

Murray has been sidelined with a knee injury since November 1st. He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but has not been cleared to play yet. Despite not being cleared, he will still travel with the team to Florida and could still receive clearance at some point during the trip.

Smith allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Coyotes 4-3 loss to the Jets on Sunday. He has lost his last four starts while posting a 3.19 GAA and .891 SV%. It has been an awful season for the 32-year-old net minder. Things won’t get any easier tonight as he gets set to take on the Hawks in Chicago. He his 2-10-1 with a 3.27 GAA and .891 SV% on the road.

Smith allowed two goals on 32 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Wild last night. He was out dulled by his former crease-mate Devan Dubnyk. Smith has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.34 GAA and .894 SV% in six starts in January. Tonight he will take on a Jets team that is rolling right now.

Smith allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Flames on Thursday. With Devan Dubnyk gone, this is his team again, but his 2-3-0 record, 3.61 GAA and .885 SV% in January shows, this boat is not turning around anytime soon. Tonight he goes head-to-head with Dubnyk, but regardless, just look at your other options.

Smith gave up five goals on 33 shots in the Coyotes 5-1 loss to Ottawa on Saturday. Arizona traded Devan Dubnyk on Wednesday which makes them fully committed to Smith turning things around. After 26 starts and one relief appearance, he is 7-17-2 with a 3.53 GAA and .885 SV%. Tonight he will make his third start vs. the Flames—he is 0-2-0 with a 4.57 GAA and .813 SV% in the first two.

Pickard will start vs. the Hurricanes on Tuesday.

Pickard allowed four goals on 32 shots in a loss to the Blackhawks on December 27th before being sent back to Lake Erie. He is back with the Avalanche 17 days later and will get the nod vs. Carolina tonight. Pickard has gone 6-6-2 with a 2.21 GAA and .934 SV% this season—he stopped all 17 shots he faced after replacing Semyon Varlamov in his first appearance vs. the Hurricanes.

Smith made 34 saves on 35 shots in the Coyotes win over the Jets on Thursday. It was Smith’s best game of the season and it earned him a fourth start start tonight with the Senators in town. Smith is 5-7-2 with a 3.48 GAA and .887 SV% at Gila River Arena this season.
