Smith was pulled on Thursday after giving up four goals on 15 shots in a loss to the Kings. It was Smith's first bad outing in his last four starts, he will look to jump back into the win column today vs. an up-and-down Oilers team.
Smith stopped 22 of 24 shots in a win over the Flames on Tuesday. This was his second win in as many starts, but he draws a tough assignment against the Kings tonight. He was 1-2-0 with a 3.24 GAA and .893 SV% in three starts vs. LA last season.
Smith was excellent against the Red Wings allowing just two goals on 33 shots in a win over the Red Wings on Saturday. Oh yeah he also scored a goal! His strong play recently has lowered his GAA to 2.83 and SV% is way up to .916. He has a strong matchup tonight vs. Calgary.
Smith was busy last night facing 39 shots, he stopped 37 of them in a 3-2 loss to the Ducks. He will go again tonight against the Red Wings. He stopped 28 of 30 shots in a win over Detroit on October 10th.
Kane is averaging 20:34 TOI with three goals and two assists in seven games.
Smith allowed four goals on 32 shots in a 4-3 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. He is now 3-2-1 with a 3.16 GAA and .905 SV%. He has a difficult matchup tonight against a Ducks team who has won five straight.

Smith was given the night off on Saturday so he will be back in the cage Sunday. He allowed two goals on 30 shots in a 4-2 win over the Red Wings on Thursday. It was good to see him get back on track after being yanked in his previous start. He has a decent option vs. Hurricanes.
Carrick had a goal and a minus-2 rating in three games with the Capitals.
