The Oilers have acquired Mattias Ekholm and a sixth-round pick from the Predators for Tyson Barrie, Reid Schaefer, a 2023 first-round pick and a fourth-round pick.

The Oilers have acquired Patrik Puistola from the Hurricanes for Jesse Puljujarvi.

Puistola was a third-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2019, and he's remained in Finland. The 22-year-old winger leads Jukurit Mikkeli with 38 points (15G / 23A) in 56 Liiga games this season. This deal clears $3.0M in cap-space ahead of Friday's trade deadline.

The Red Wings have signed Jake Walman to a three-year contract extension worth $10.2 million ($3.4M AAV).

Walman was a third-round pick in 2014 and was traded to the Red Wings in the Nick Leddy deal last March. The 27-year-old has taken a massive step forward this year, playing on the top-pair with Moritz Seider for the last few months. Walman has a booming slap shot and is a shot-blocking machine in his own-end. On the year, he's scored five goals with five assists (10 points) with 95 SOG and 77 Blks in 40 games.

Kane missed the Oilers' previous contest due to a rib injury and will not play Monday as they take on the Boston Bruins. The 31-year-old has nine goals, 10 assists, 88 SOG, and 33 PIMs through 24 games prior to this injury.

Skinner allowed two goals on 12 shots (.833 SV%) as he picked up the loss in a relief effort against Columbus during his previous time out. The 24-year-old Edmonton native has been solid all season, as shown by his 15-12-4 record, 2.90 GAA and .912 SV%. He takes on the league-leading Boston Bruins, who are in the midst of a six-game winning streak after a 3-1 win over Vancouver last game.

The 24-year-old Edmonton native has been the better of the two goalies for the Oilers, with his 14-11-4 record, 2.92 GAA and .913 SV%. He takes on the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins, who have lost three-straight games after a 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders last game.

Klingberg had two assists and four PIMs in the Ducks' last game Monday vs. Florida but is now a 50/50 game-time decision to play Thursday as he deals with a lower-body injury. The 30-year-old has seven goals, 15 assists, 71 SOG, 30 PIMs and a -29 plus/minus through 48 games prior to the injury.

The 28-year-old journeyman has a winning record (7-4-1) despite his ugly other counting stats as he has a .878 SV% and 3.48 GAA. He will face the Nashville Predators, who have lost three of their last four games after a 4-3 defeat to Minnesota last game.
